Mehndi

Mehndi (Saath Mainz in Kashmiri) is a ritual before the main ceremony. On this day, family & friends gather to sing Kashmiri songs, apply henna, dance & play the traditional musical instrument "tumbakhnaer" (goblet drum). Steaming cups of "kehwa" (green tea) are poured from the "samavar" (tea-pot).
